Xth International Symposium on Integrating Canopy, Rootstock and Environmental
Physiology in Orchard Systems
to be held in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 3-6 December 2012.

The three working groups, Orchard and Plantation Systems, Rootstock, Breeding and Evaluation and Environmental Physiology have organized such combined symposia very successfully in the past and we aim to build on this previous collaboration between the working groups. The aim of the symposium is to bring international scientists and other stakeholders involved in diverse aspects of fruit tree orchards together to provide a platform that will promote communication, collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and expertise for the benefit of all. Stellenbosch is situated in the Cape Winelands, surrounded by fruit growing areas, predominantly pome and stone fruit, but also citrus, blueberries and Mediterranean fruit crops e.g. persimmon, olive, pomegranate and fig, thereby providing ample opportunity to learn from the diversity of crops on offer.
We look forward to renewing acquaintances with delegates from the previous symposia and taking the opportunity to make new friends!
